One can deduce that you must take anything Debbie Miller and her entourage say with a grain of salt. Miller is the most responsible party in this whole debacle.

Hearing on Election Contest for Measure J

Wear v. White

These are the details for the hearing.:

 Date: Friday, May 25, 2018
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Place: Dept. 1, County Courthouse, 11 Court St, Weaverville, CA 96093 530-623-1208 map

Courtroom Observers:
We are asking you to visit beautiful Trinity County and observe your state court system in action. Natural law holds that observation changes the result. It's true both in physics and in human interaction. When judges are under public scrutiny, they may better consider their behavior.

If you are travelling from outside the county, please text me at 530-739-1116 with your name and city. We will coordinate ride-sharing. The nearest major city is Redding on Interstate 5.

Background:
This is an important case for taxpayers around the state about the illegal holding of Proposition 39 bond elections. On November 7, 2017, four of the five Proposition 39 bond elections on the ballot in California violated the law. The other three were moot because local taxpayers prevailed and handily defeated those measures.

A tactic used by judges to prevent public participation in matters of great public interest is to change dates, times, and places for hearings to prevent the public from observing what goes on in the courtroom.

Note: Margaret Long, the appointed Trinity County Counsel, is a partner in the Prentince, Long & Epperson, PC. She is also, the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and the County Administrator.

Long profits from cases against the county and county employees. If you hear about huge legal fees being charged, that is her choice. It is also the choice of the Board of Supervisors who contract out County Counsel work rather than hiring lawyers as employees of the county. The conflict is that Long and her law firm can charge the county taxpayers whatever they want and are not accountable to control costs.
